Scotland lockdown latest: When is Nicola Sturgeon's update today and where can I watch it?

Nicola Sturgeon is likely to set out some "tough decisions" which could see further restrictions brought in at her live coronavirus briefing today.

The Scottish Government held talks with clinical advisors over the weekend to discuss how to tackle the rapid spread of the virus in Scotland.

The First Minister warned on Friday that greater measures may have to be put in place "if we want to avoid another full-scale lockdown".

It comes as Health Secretary Jeanne Freeman said six months is a "more realistic" time frame for any new covid-19 restrictions to be in place.

Questioned on BBC Scotland's Good Morning Scotland programme on whether the government is considering a six-month time frame, Ms Freeman said: "It's a more realistic position but we have not yet made all of our decisions about the additional measures that we put in place and how long they'll be there for."

Scotland's Clinical Director Jason Leitch said it is likely restrictions will be introduced "that seek to stop households from mixing."

Here is how to watch:

Nicola Sturgeon's coronavirus briefing will not be shown on the main BBC One channel, however, you can watch it at 12.15 pm on the local BBC Scotland channel, which can be accessed on BBC Iplayer.

The briefing will also be broadcast live at 12:15pm on the Scottish Government Twitter page and you can watch it even if you don't have an account.
