Homes and businesses could be flooded in parts of Scotland on Tuesday as the Met Office issued a yellow 'be aware' weather warning.
The warning for “heavy and persistent rain” is in place throughout most of the day across parts of East Lothian and the Scottish Borders.
The Met Office website says that flooding of a few homes and businesses is “likely,” with some bus and train services "probably affected" and spray and flooding on roads making journey times longer.
The weather warning also covers parts of eastern England, but an update on the Met Office website around 10.30am this morning said: “The threat of impactful rain over eastern England has now passed whilst south-eastern Scotland has become at risk of impactful rain.”
The alert was introduced at 2am on Tuesday and the worst of the weather may arrive in East Lothian and the Scottish Borders in mid to late afternoon.
The weather warning for southeastern Scotland is forecast to stay in place until 10pm on Tuesday.
