Scotland handed Euro 2020 date with destiny as Steve Clarke's side face packed schedule

Scotland will play their crucial Euro 2020 play off clashes in October and November.

Steve Clarke 's side are set to return to Nations League action in September before tackling the semi-final shodown with Israel at Hampden in the following months.

All matches will take place behind closed doors until further notice.

The scheduling, confirmed at Wednesday's UEFA executive committee meeting, means Scotland will play Israel twice in three months - first in the Nations League then in the all-important Euro play-offs.

A clash with the Czech Republic in September bolsters the hectic schedule further.

A UEFA statement said: "The national team football windows of October and November 2020 will now feature triple-headers instead of double-headers, thus allowing the postponed European qualifiers play offs to be rescheduled at the beginning of the respective windows, on October 8 and November 12."

Victory over Israel in the play off would see Scotland advance to face either Serbia or Norway in the Final, with a place at next summer's Euros awaiting the victor.

Elsewhere, Rangers will resume their Europa League campaign in August with a second-leg clash against Bayer Leverkusen.

The competition will be completed as a "mini-tournament" in Germany between August 10-21.

The Champions League will be played out in similar fashion in Lisbon on August 12-23.
