Scotland flood warning as rain gets set to lash parts of the country

Scotland's weather forecast on Thursday is looking like another washout as a further yellow weather warning was issued.

Scots may feel like summer has already disappeared after a mini-heatwave earlier in the week that saw temperatures soar above 20 degrees.

The country was hit with downpours and thunderstorms on Wednesday the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning with up to 40mm of rain expected to lash down in just two hours.

Most of Scotland was even on flood alert the thunderstorms swept across the country following a day of exceptionally warm weather.

And forecasters are predicting another wet day on Friday, with a further yellow weather warning issued for rain in parts of the country.

A large swathe of the north of Scotland, including Aberdeen and Inverness, are including in the warning.

The rain is set to hit through the night and into the morning, from 8pm on Thursday and 8am on Friday.

Forecasters have warned that heavy rain means flood of some homes and businesses is likely.

They add there will also be travel disruption due to spray and flooding, with possible interruption to power supplies and other services.
