Scotland fans told they must provide negative Covid test to attend mammoth England Euro 2020 clash at Wembley

Scotland fans travelling south for the clash with England will have to show evidence of a negative Covid-19 test to get into Wembley.

All 2,600 members of the Tartan Army who have got their hands on tickets for the anticipated Euro 2020 clash as Steve Clarke 's team take on England will need to provide added information.

Ticket-holders were initially told no proof of a negative test would be needed.

But rising case numbers have raised concerns and fans have now been told through the Euro 2020 app that they will need proof of a negative test, or evidence they have received both doses of the vaccine.

As things stand there are no such restrictions in place for Scotland 's games at Hampden.

A meeting took place last week with the Association of Tartan Army Clubs, the planning team at the Met Police and London authorities, UEFA and Czech fan groups too, who also will be playing at Wembley.

They reported that the UK Government were expected to push for Covid checks and they have now opted for a negative Lateral Flow

Test or proof of being double vaccinated. It also applies to England's other group matches against Croatia and Czech Republic.

In the Covid-19 section of the app, an updated message states: "All ticket holders aged 11 and older must present evidence that that are at a low risk of transmitting Covid-19 to enter Wembley.

"Failure to do so will mean you are unable to attend this match.

"Requirements for stadium entry: Negative Lateral Flow Test or proof of full vaccination.

"The following requirements apply for all group matches at Wembley. Procedures for the remaining matches may change and will be confirmed shortly.

"For ticket holders based in the UK: Proof of a negative Lateral Flow Test reported and demonstrated via a text message or email from NHS Test and Trace. This can be on your device including a screenshot or a printout.

"The test needs to be taken within 48 hours of the time stadium gates open (meaning three hours before kick off).

"Or proof of a full vaccination - both doses received at least 14 days prior to the match )demonstrated via the NHS app or via the Scottish or Welsh vaccination record services)."

Fans will need to administer the tests and upload the results and show proof at the turnstiles to gain entry to the match a week on Friday.
