Scotland fans in Ukraine solidarity as punters snap up 25,000 tickets for fundraising clash with Poland

Scottish FA Chief Executive Ian Maxwell has praised the response and generosity of the Tartan Army as they show solidarity with the people of Ukraine with healthy ticket sales.

They have already snapped up over 25,000 briefs tickets for Scotland's friendly match against Poland at Hampden Park next Thursday, despite the game being announced at the last minute.

For every ticket sold, £10 will be donated to UNICEF UK’s emergency appeal for Ukraine and Maxwell has urged everyone to step up and help by purchasing a ticket for the clash.

If they secure a 52,000 sell out that could be over a million pounds in aid to the war torn nation.

Maxwell said: “We have been heartened and humbled by the response of the Scotland supporters and we thank every single person who has bought a ticket so far."
