Scotland fans face scramble for Euro 2020 gold dust tickets as demand set to dwarf supply

Scotland fans face a sprint to snap up gold dust tickets for Hampden's Euro 2020 clashes.

The Tartan Army are preparing for the national team's first major finals appearance for 23 years following confirmation 12,000 fans will be allowed into the stadium.

Steve Clarke 's side kick off against Czech Republic on June 14 and demand for tickets will certainly outstrip supply.

Scotland 's qualification via the play-offs meant they were one of four nations not given an initial UEFA allocation as those matches took place after original tickets were distributed.

Those briefs are set to go on sale in May but it's expected just 1,920 will be available to the Scotland Supporters Club.

With over 24,000 members in the organisation there's set to be an almighty scramble to get in the door at Hampden.

UEFA are yet to confirm the final breakdown of how the 12,000-tickets will now be distributed because they have to wait until their ticket return portal closes and then will have to do a ballot among existing ticket holders due to the reduced capacities.

UEFA 's latest figures indicated 50 per cent will go to current ticket holders, which will be 6,000. The remaining 6,000 tickets will be split between both national associations, at 16 per cent each (1,920), with the rest split between commercial partners, hospitality, VIP guests and the 'UEFA football family.'

European football's governing body this week confirmed the capacities for the stadiums that will be used for the Finals and also outlined advice for fans at the game which included a ban on hugging, handshakes and high-fives, mandatory face masks being worn and the prospect of having to arrive hours before kick off.
