Scotland faces summer flooding as yellow weather warning spreads north of border

We’ve all felt pretty smug enjoying warm, dry weather here in Scotland as England was hit with yellow and amber warnings for heavy rain and flooding .

But now Scotland could face a very wet summer after the Met Office extended their warning north of the border.

Scots on the east coast, including Edinburgh , the Borders and the Lothians, are being urged to brace themselves for heavy downpours and flooding over the next two days.

The Met Office yellow warning for heavy rain has been extended to southeast Scotland (Met Office)

The updated warning for Scotland is in place from Wednesday morning until midday on Thursday.

The Met Office warn there’s a chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.

There is also a chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services and drivers are being warned to take care on the roads.

Some roads may be closed and some communities may become cut off by flooded roads.
