Scotland covid vaccine certificates available to access as QR codes from today

Vaccine certificates have been made available in Scotland with QR codes from today.

The new QR codes will allow people to easily access their covid vaccine records and are available to download here.

The NHS Inform system confirms the codes have been added to all record of vaccination for those over the age of 16. Children aged 12 to 15 can request a copy of their vaccination status by phoning the Covid-19 Status Helpline on 0808 196 8565.

The NHS statement continues: "If you're unable to download a PDF you can still request a printed copy be sent to you by first class post. Please allow at least 14 days for your letter to arrive.

"If you requested a copy of your vaccination status before 3 September your letter will still be valid. You'll only need to re-order your letter if the country you’re travelling to requires your status to include 2D barcodes.

"It's important to check the entry requirements of the country you're travelling to before booking your trip, and only request a record of your vaccination status if you need one."

The move by the Scottish Government comes after Nicola Sturgeon announced on Wednesday plans to introduce vaccine passports for over-18 nightclubs and large-scale events.

The proposal will be debated in parliament next week ahead of the introduction of the measures.
