Nicola Sturgeon will host a covid briefing today as Scotland looks ‘ahead to some careful easing of restrictions’.
The First Minister tweeted this morning that she will appear at lunchtime, and urged Scots to “tune in if you can”.
The update will be shown on BBC One Scotland and is expected to cover the end of the current ‘stay at home’ restrictions, scheduled for Friday (April 2),
The update will also cover reopening dates for hairdressers, non-essential retail (for click and collect) and the return of outdoor contact sports for ages 12-17 - all scheduled to happen on Monday (April 5).

Why isn't there a daily briefing any more?
The FM had previously cut back the daily coronavirus briefing in the run-up to the Scottish Parliament election this May. During this time, politicians are banned from using government resources in a way that could be seen to influence the election.
But she added that she would communicate big changes to the public as needed.
Ms Sturgeon said: "I remain First Minister and ministers remain ministers, so we have to be accountable during a health crisis and have to have the ability to communicate directly with the public.
"I am a democrat and I understand the import of level playing fields in elections and I will act appropriately.
"You will undoubtedly not have me doing daily briefings every day the way I have been doing them previously.
"But if there are big decisions that we are having to make during the election, period then I have a duty to communicate to the public what they are.”
