SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell reckons Scotland can WIN Euro 2020 after admitting St Johnstone’s 10,000-1 cup double shows anything is possible.
Scotland have never made it beyond the first round at a major tournament in 10 attempts but Steve Clarke is looking to change that this summer.
Maxwell is confident Scotland can get out of Group D with Czech Republic, England and Croatia in the section with the four best third-place finishers qualifying for the knockout stage.
Greece were shock Euros winners at 150/1 when they went all the way in 2004 but Scotland are double those odds to go all the way and lift the Henri Delaunay Trophy at Wembley on July 11.
Maxwell told Sky Sports: “I absolutely think we can win the Euros because anything is possible.
“I don’t think anyone would have said at the start of the season St Johnstone would have won both domestic cup competitions and Shaun Rooney would score the winner in the same minute of both finals. Anything is possible if that can happen.”
It’s 23 years since Scotland last played at a major tournament - the World Cup in France - but Clarke ended that wait and two group games will be played at Hampden.
Maxwell said: “It will be a fantastic sight to see Steve lead the team out and it will really engage the nation as we’ve seen and the closer we get to the matches the more engagement there will be.
“It’s just something everyone is really looking forward to and I don’t see any reason why we can’t at least get out the group stage and see how far we can get depending on the draw.
“It’s amazing how we haven’t qualified for so long and as soon as you qualify it’s about what hoodoo you can break next.

“We’re in with the best countries in Europe. It’s going to be really tough. We’ve got some recent experience of the Czech Republic and know how difficult side they are, Croatia were in the World Cup final not so long ago and England are one of the top footballing nations in the world.
“We know it will be difficult but there’s absolutely no reason Steve and the boys can’t do the Tartan Army proud and get us out the group stage and take us far as we can.”
