Scotland boost as Arsenal star Kieran Tierney returns to training following injury

Scotland have been handed a boost after Kieran Tierney returned to Arsenal training following a groin injury.

The former Celtic full-back missed the victory over West Ham at the weekend but could return for Mikel Arteta's side against English champions Liverpool on Monday evening.

News that Tierney was struggling with injury caused some concern among Scotland fans with the crucial Euro 2021 play-off match against Israel on the horizon.

However it appears the full-back will be fit in time for the match, so we can expect the Tierney-Robertson debate to pick up where it left off after the previous international break.

Steve Clarke's side play Israel behind closed doors at Hampden on October 8, with the winner going on to face either Norway or Serbia for a place at the European Championships.
