Scotland areas with most people vaccinated as today marks six-month jab milestone

It's been six months since the first ever person was vaccinated with the coronavirus jab in Scotland.

In what has been a tumultuous year of the pandemic, the discovery of a vaccine sparked hoped across the world and signalled the light at the end of the tunnel.

Since then, three-quarters of the adult population - more than three million people - have now received their first dose in Scotland, while half are now fully vaccinated.

Health Secretary Humza Yousaf hailed the milestone as a "momentous day" and praised the "enormous efforts of our vaccination teams".

If all goes to plan in the rollout of the jab, all over-18s should have received their first doses by the end of July.
