Scot takes spectacular photos of Paisley shrouded in mist as freezing weather continues

An amateur photographer has captured some spectacular photos of Paisley shrouded in fog as the freezing weather continued across Scotland.

Local government manager Gary Chittick, 47, was out for a walk when he spotted the town blanketed in mist just before the snows rolled in.

The keen photographer took several photos while out walking in the Gleniffer Braes.

The stunning snapshots show a fair bit of the Paisley townscape including the Thomas Coats Memorial Baptist Church, the John Neilson Institute, and the Mile End Mill along with some of the high flats around town.

Gary said: "Before returning to work next week I'm still trying to get some daily exercise and fresh air and as a keen photographer and lover of the outdoors the weather conditions looked good for some fog.

Gary explained that there's plenty of space on the Braes and they offer a great view over Paisley, Glasgow and the Clyde Valley.

He added: "The fog had already started to form before sunset and it just kept creeping over the town.

"Once the lights were on it created a very atmospheric look as some of the towns most recognised buildings disappeared into the fog.

"Lockdown has helped me to appreciate what we have around us, take advantage of the open air time we get and give thanks for all the hard work being done by the Council and all the frontline staff helping to keep things running."
