A Glasgow dog treat business owner has secured an huge investment on Dragon’s Den - just over 18 months after her firm was devastated by a blaze.
Dom Hogan appeared on the BBC reality show last night seeking a £50,000 investment from the successful Dragons.
Her business, Opie’s Emporium, specialises in manufacturing ‘all natural pet products’ since it was launched in 2018.
Dom started the business as she was unable to find any suitable treats for her six pups that “weren’t just full of rubbish fillers.”

She told the Dragons that the business has gone from strength to strength over the past year, as the firm generated around £80,000 in turnover.
“I wasn’t planning on actually starting a business”, Dom said.
“I still don’t really know what I’m doing but it’s going from strength to strength and it’s a bit crazy.”
Disaster sadly struck in September 2019 after her base was struck by a blaze, which she said ‘wiped out’ all of the company’s production line.

She described the fire as a “pretty tough setback” but was able to successfully relaunch the firm.
Dom, who was accompanied by her lovely French bulldog Opie, said she went on the programme for a mentor to help her take the business to the next stage.
The businesswoman also offered the Dragons a 10% stake in the dog treat firm in return for a £50,000 investment.
Zara Davies, Peter Jones, Tej Lalvani and Deborah Meaden signalled that they would be walking away from making Dom an offer.

However, retail entrepreneur Touker Suleyman handed her the investment she was after while asking for 20% of the business.
A joyous Dom took in the celebrations with Opie immediately after exiting the Dragon’s Den.
She told her beloved pooch: “Opie we've got a Dragon! Me, you and Touker are going to take over the world. What do you reckon pal?”
Dom later on added that she was “so chuffed” to secure the investment.
