Scot left fuming after 'rude' driver refuses to fix illegal parking

An Edinburgh driver was left in disbelief after a fellow motorist hurled abuse at him - despite their parking being the issue.

Stewart Hardie-Gray confronted the owner of the BMW after noticing their car was over the white line of the parking bay at Corstorphine's Tesco store, but was met with a volley of insults in response.

He spotted that the white car was parked illegally as it pulled into the space with a wheel encroaching over the outline of the box, according to Edinburgh Live.

Hardie-Gray pointed out the issue, which would have made it difficult for the owner of the car next to it to reverse out without hitting the BMW, as it was parked at an angle.

However, he was surprised when, rather than admit her error, the woman delivered a tirade in his direction.

“I asked her if she was just going to leave her car like that and she asked me if I was driving a tank,” he told Edinburgh Live.

“I just told her that was rude and she retorted that I was rude and walked off.

“It was a completely odd reaction when she was quite clearly the one in the wrong.”

It’s the latest in a slew of recent bizarre parking incidents around the Capital.

Late last month, a large Mercedes 4x4 was spotted parked directly in the middle of the pavement in Corstorphine, blocking access to several shop fronts.
