Scots lad misses out on massive £157m Euromillions lotto win by just one number

A Scot lad has lost out on a massive £157m Euromillions win by just one number.

Aidan Murray from Clydebank went viral after posting a picture of his lottery ticket on Twitter.

It showed he almost had the exact matching numbers for Tuesday's £157,644,778 jackpot, but had agonisingly missed out on the grand prize.

His ticket had 05,09,15,25,29, with lucky stars 06 and 07.

But the winning numbers came in at 05,09,25,29,30, with lucky stars 06 and 07.

It means that had unlucky Aidan landed a 30 instead of his 15, he would have been an instant multimillionaire.

The player did still walk away with a £666.50 win, but it was bittersweet considering how close he was to the life changing sum of cash.

Revealing his results on social media Aidan said: "One number away from 156 million hahahaha and only won 666 quid."

The tweet went viral raking in more than 17k likes and counting since being posted yesterday.

Hundreds of users were quick to send send their sympathies to the Scot after his near miss.

One person said: "I won nothing, 666 quid is better than zero but you're still a winner."

A second person said: "Money doesn't make you happy anyway you got a lucky escape."

A third person said: "Mate am sick just reading that unlucky."

A fourth person said: "A feel f***** sick for ye man."
