A Scots reveller was left bemused after his lost driving licence was found in a charity shop in Ukraine - a year after its disappearance.
Shaun McCourt lost his provisional license after a night out with his pals in Glasgow during the summer last year.
The 22-year-old, from Glasgow, only realised the ID had vanished after realising the pockets of his trousers were empty the following morning.
After searching his house, he ordered a new licence and thought nothing more of it over the next year.
But in a bizarre turn of events, Shaun received a message from a Facebook user in Kiev, Ukraine yesterday.
They wrote: “Hello Shaun. You don’t know me. I’m from Ukraine and I have your driving licence.”
The stranger then sent two pictures of Shaun's missing licence after finding it inside the pocket of a jacket they had purchased from a charity shop.
A baffled Shaun said the message left him in hysterics and he has no idea how the ID came to end up abroad.
He said: “I was just getting on with my day when the message came through.
“I ignored it at first, then two photos came through. I opened them and they were pictures of my driving licence. I couldn't stop laughing and kept asking ‘how has that gotten over there?’”
“I just told her to keep it as a souvenir from Glasgow.”
Shaun shared his conversation with the good samaritan on social media and more than 13,000 people rushed to like it on Twitter.
One person replied: “it’s things like this is why I love the internet.”
Another wrote: “That must have been some weekend if you can’t remember.”
