A Scots pensioner separated from her family on her birthday was moved to tears by a kilted piper at her outside the window of her home.
Joan Gusman's daughter Angela, 54, is self isolating after falling unwell and was unable to be with her mum on her 81st birthday.
The pair have been separated during the coronavirus pandemic.
After seeing the Munro bagpiper Grant Macleod performing at Lilyburn residential home in Milton of Campsie, Angela asked him to surprise Joan at her own home in a bid to bring some joy to her birthday.
Grant played happy birthday on the bagpipes outside grandmother Joan's Kirkintilloch home and the pensioner was overcome with emotion.
Neighbour and close friend Anne McCormick, 49, filmed Joan's reaction to the emotional suprise.
She said: "She absolutely loved it. She was so taken aback. She said she was blown away. There was a lot of tears.
"Joan' family couldn't be with her yesterday because they are self isolating.
"Her daughter arranged this lovely wee surprise and sat outside in the car so she could watch it.
"She loves this type of music, so it was so nice to see her enjoy it. Her reaction was priceless."
Anne has lived next to Joan for 24 years and refers to her as her second mum.
She added: "We've became really close over the years. She's like my second mammy. I go in to check on her most days.
"Yesterday I went in to see her for her birthday and we had a wee glass of prosecco. It was nice to have a wee celebration with everything that's going on."
Anne said Joan has been been blown away with how far the video has reached.
She added: "She's has birthday messages from all around the world.
"It’s just so lovely and has definitely made her smile especially with everything going on and not getting to see her family."
