Scot divides internet by calling beans on toast ‘1,000 men on a raft’

A Scot has divided the internet after changing the name of beans on toast to ‘1,000 men on a raft’.

Twitter user @jackandersonxx7 has helped beans on toast go viral after sharing a message from a girl who had given the meal the strange alias.

Posting a screen shot on Twitter she told followers what the term meant by showing off her plate of beans on toast for dinner.

Scores of punters, who either loved or hated the name, then waded in on the debate.

JLingz@joesmithh99 was outraged at the name and said: " That’s disgusting I am FUMING"

One user, @jackandersonxx7 , tweeted: "What ever it’s called, get it in the bin!"

But @reegansmith123 loved the new name for the classic dish and tweeted: " Fried my brain. I’m calling it this from now on.”

User Laura@laurarjhowe added: " Never calling it beans on toast ever again."

The post has been shared 3,700 thousands of times and has racked up more than 24,000 likes.

However others were quick to intervene saying that the meal was actually called ‘skin heads on a raft’.
