'Scores goals for fun!' - Arsenal fans have decided Edu's next transfer to help Mikel Arteta

Arsenal fans think they have found the perfect man to ease the Gunners' woes in front of goal next season - Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

The 24-year-old made the move from Peterborough to Brentford in the summer and has brought his goalscoring from from League One straight into the Championship.

The deal was said to be worth an initial £5million with around £10million in potential add-ons, but the striker has already started repaying his fee with 22 goals and seven assists in his 27 games so far this season.

The lethal striker has been gaining attention this season after replacing Ollie Watkins in West London. Watkins moved to Aston Villa and has gone from strength to strength, scoring the only goal in Villa's win over Mikel Arteta's side on Saturday afternoon.

Watkins' move to Villa cost around £30million, and while Toney's future transfer fee would likely be at least around that amount, Gunners fans think they've found the man to boost their performances in front of goal.

Arsenal have suffered this season with finding a decisive goal at key times - they've notched just 27 goals in 23 Premier League matches, failing to score in nine fixtures so far.

Arteta said after the game that the Gunners are failing to show a ruthless streak, with their lack of creativity and sloppiness at the back costing them "two games in the last four days" against Wolves and Newcastle.

"Really strong performance again today we completely dominated the game, we dominated every department and we should have won the game," Arteta told reporters after the defeat against Villa.

"But, in the Premier League when you just give a goal to opponents, and we gave them another three opportunities to be fair ourselves, we gifted it to them, and then you are not ruthless in the box, you cannot win these games.

"The rest, the way the team played, the energy that they showed, the quality that they showed, the amount of chances and situations that we created, how quickly we regained the ball, how we controlled long balls second balls, how aggressive we were, just incredible. But it wasn’t enough to win the game.

"And if we are not [ruthless] then we don’t give anything to the opponents. And that is something that we have to do better. It cost us two games in the last four days because the reality is that we should have won both games."
