Scorched remains of roe deer found near Stirling sparks police probe

Police are appealing for information after the burnt carcass of a deer was found near Stirling.

A member of the public came across the scorched remains of a roe deer in a woodland area at Bridge of Allan on Wednesday July 22.

It is unclear if the poor animal was put in that condition by a criminal act.

Now cops and the SSPCA have launched a joint probe into the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Along with partners @ScottishSPCA we're investigating after a member of the public found scorched remains of a Roe Deer in woodland at #BridgeOfAllan #Stirling .

"It's currently unknown if this was part of a criminal act, however if you've any info, call 101, quote 1019, 22nd July."
