Scooter riders who 'tried to hide' arrested after testing positive for drugs

Two scooter riders were arrested in Bury after "trying to hide" from traffic cops.

Traffic officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and police helicopters noticed the scooters riding in an anti-social manner through Whitefield, during a separate police chase.

According to a spokesman for the GMP Traffic division, the scooters were "trying to hide from police".

With the help of the police helicopter, officers located the scooters and shared a photo of them hidden behind the wall of Hollins Community Centre, in Hollins Lane, Unsworth.

Both riders allegedly tested positive for drugs and were arrested. The scooters were also seized by police.

GMP Traffic tweeted: "Whilst NPASNorthWest were assisting RPUwest with the tail end of a pursuit in Whitefield they noticed two scooters riding anti-socially and trying to hide.

"Traffic were guided in where both scooters were seized sec59 reform act and both riders arrested sec5a pos drug tests."
