Scooby and the Revenue gang make €400K doobie bust in Dublin Airport

Almost €400,000 worth of drugs were nabbed by Scooby and the gang in Dublin Airport.

The brazen smugglers might have got away with it if it wasn't for the nose of the appropriately named detector dog.

The 20kg cannabis haul had come in on a flight from Spain and was destined to go on to Carlow.

Unfortunately for the criminals Scooby was on the case and Revenue made the bust yesterday.

A revenue spokesperson said: "Yesterday (11/02/2020), as a result of routine operations and with the assistance of detector dog Scooby, Revenue officers at Dublin Airport seized approximately 20kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of almost €400,000.  The drugs were concealed in parcels which originated in Spain and were destined for an address in Carlow.

"Investigations are ongoing.

"This seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the smuggling of illegal drugs. If businesses or members of the public have any information regarding smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on Confidential Phone Number 1800 295 295."
