Scissor Sister killer Charlotte Mulhall said she is “lonely and sad” after being forced to move jails over claims of a lesbian fling with a prison officer.
The infamous murderer denied romping with the female warder at the Dochas Centre woman’s prison in Dublin.
The High Court heard yesterday that Mulhall was transferred to Limerick jail on Christmas Eve 2018, two days after she was allegedly seen by a prison officer sitting on a warder while performing a beauty treatment. Mulhall disputes that accusation, and says she has never been given the opportunity to put her side of the story.
She claims her Dublin-based family, for a variety of reasons, have not visited her since she moved jails.
The lack of visits, she claims, has caused “great stress and upset to her and her family members.”
In her statement she said: “I am lonely and sad. I miss my dog who was part of the canine programme I was undertaking.”
Represented by Conor Power SC and Cian Kelly Bl she is seeking various orders including one directing her return to Dublin, and an order quashing the decision to transfer her.
Mr Power said it was not until June, following a Freedom of Information request, that his client got it in writing why she had been transferred.
In the information obtained the Prison Service said Mulhall had been found “in a very compromising position with a prison officer”, and that the relationship “has been the focus of media attention previously”.
Mulhall she said disputes that, and had she “been afforded the opportunity to address the situation which I was not, I would have told the governor exactly what happened and this transfer could have been avoided.”
Adjourning the case to a date next month, Mr Justice Charles Meenan said the application for leave should be heard in the presence of lawyers for the respondents.
