With the UK now in its second week of coronavirus lockdown, many bored Brits are scraping the barrel for activities to keep themselves entertained at home.
For couples in lockdown together, the time together may have done wonders for your sex life, while the opposite is likely true for those stuck at home alone.
Now, scientists are hoping to understand the wider effect the lockdown is having on our sex lives, and are searching for participants to help.
The team, led by sex psychologist Dr Justin Lehmiller, is recruiting participants to take part in their study.
Dr Lehmiller explained: “Countless media articles have been written about the ways in which this is affecting people’s sex lives and relationships; however, most of them are purely speculative.

“This led some of my colleagues at the Kinsey Institute and I to wonder what’s really happening—and we’ve designed a study to help us better understand how emergency situations like this affect people’s sexual and romantic lives, which may help us to better plan and prepare for similar events in the future.”
The study is open to people of any relationship status, whether you’re single, dating, married or something else.
However, in order to participate, you must be age 18 or older and fluent in English.
The study involves three surveys spaced over four weeks, which will allow the researchers to look at how sex lives evolve and unfold over time.
The surveys will include questions about your sexual and romantic attitudes and behaviours, which the researchers admit may be embarrassing to think about.
They explained: “You may feel uncomfortable or embarrassed answering some of the survey questions pertaining to sexual behaviour and desire. Please know that all answers are confidential, and we will never present or publish your individual data.”
While you won’t get paid for taking part, participants will be eligible to enter a raffle to receive one of 100 gift cards.
