Scientists have revealed what Covid-19 really looks like.
The virus has infected nearly 100 million people, killing more than 2 million worldwide.
The extreme close-up image, showing the 100nanometre virus particle, was created by experts at Tsinghua University in China.
A human hair is 100,000 nanometres wide.
Sai Li, who created the image, said: "Seeing is believing. The public is likely to ignore the danger, if no one is able to see the dangerous yet very small pathogens."
Previous images seen of the coronavirus are based on predicted models.
The new image uses a process called cryo-tomography to show the actual virus in three dimensions.
