Science Weekly podcast: James Lovelock on the future of planet Earth

On the show this week, Ian Sample meets the celebrated scientist James Lovelock.

London's Science Museum opened an exhibition last week, Unlocking Lovelock, which brings together his drawings, notebooks and inventions, tracing his hugely influential and independent life in science.

Lovelock also discusses his latest book A Rough Ride into the Future in which he gives a sober assessment of the challenge to sustain humanity in the face of inevitable climate change.

His daughter Christine described on our blog last week what it was like growing up with the scientist, including the strange night they sat up waiting for the end of the world.
