Science Weekly podcast: Anarchy in the laboratory - the wild side of science

This week Nell Boase meets Michael Brooks, whose new book Free Radicals: The Secret Anarchy of Science shines a light on the freewheeling and reckless side of scientific endeavour.

The Observer's science and technology editor Robin McKie joins Nell to discuss the latest science news and comment including Britain's future role in space as the UK Space Conference 2011 opens in Coventry this week, and the implications for forensic science in the UK with the scheduled closure of the Forensic Science Service.

Nell also talks to author and blogger Brian Switek about his book Written in Stone: Evolution, the Fossil Record and Our Place in Nature. Brian discusses what he believes is the dawn of a golden era in palaeontology and our understanding of dinosaurs.
