As the summer holidays draw to a close, the Education Departments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have officially announced that schools will reopen on June 15, 2026. The vacation period had begun on April 24.

Before the onset of full summer holidays, schools were operating on a reduced schedule from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. During this period, government schools were instructed to serve midday meals to students after the conclusion of classes.
The directive applied to all institutions, including primary, upper primary, and high schools under government, government-aided, and private management.
No Extension in Summer Vacations
The latest confirmation puts an end to speculation regarding a possible extension of the holidays. Authorities have clarified that reopening schools as planned is crucial to maintaining the academic calendar.
Officials stressed that sticking to the schedule will help ensure the timely completion of the syllabus, smooth conduct of examinations, and steady academic progress for the 2026–27 academic year.

Even though schools will reopen on June 15, students will still have a few holidays later in the month. The confirmed dates are:
June 13 (Saturday): Second Saturday
June 14 (Sunday): Weekly holiday
June 21 (Sunday): Weekly holiday
June 26 (Friday): Muharram holiday
June 28 (Sunday): Weekly holiday
