Schoolkids seeking sponsorship to attend special event

Three schoolkids who came third in a national army competition are looking for sponsorship to attend an event at the Imperial War Museum.

The S1 pupils at Greenwood Academy were placed joint third at the Race for the Line Scottish finals at Redford Barracks, Edinburgh.

The Irvine team of Amy Drummond, Emily Dunning and Alistair Kennedy-Risk were competing against 13 other schools from Scotland.

The day comprised of building a rocket car, team building activities, army-based tasks and racing the rocket car.

After their third place the trio and their teacher Miss Kennedy were invited to attend the first Global Race for the Line to be held at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, on June 27.

They want to attend but are looking for a sponsor to help with costs.

Anyone who wants to help can contact Greenwood Academy on 01294 213124.
