Schoolgirl's coronavirus stunt leaves mum mortified

A schoolgirl almost shut down two schools this morning after telling her headteacher her mum had coronavirus .

Jess Jean was aghast to receive an email from her employer asking her to contact her six-year-old daughter's school urgently after she told them she had contracted Covid 19.

Jess works in a different school and received the email telling her the school was 'concerned she had the coronavirus'.

The mum received an urgent email from her employer asking her if she had coronavirus (Facebook)

Posting about the gaff on The Motherhood Community Facebook page, the Southend-on-Sea mum said: "When your six-year-old nearly shuts down two schools before 10am!!
(I also work at a school, her school rung my school to see if I had corona). Jeez."

While Jess was embarrassed over her daughter's stunt, fellow mums were impressed with her ingenuity at trying to get a day off school.

One said: "What a way to get a day or 14 off! Genius."

Another said: "Oh this is something my son would do."

Another added: "Say yes! You'll get 2 weeks off work."

"Made my day this has. .. Gotta love our kids," added another.

The post has racked up more than 1000 reactions and 100 comments, but not everyone is amused.

One mum said her child is worried about contracting coronavirus.

She said: "My kids getting obsessed with it ..I have stopped watching the news because of her she is nine..she thinks anyone who is coughing has it."

Another parent said kids are claiming other children have it and it leads to bullying. He said: "Some children are being bullied and beaten because of all thats been on the news and what they've heard."
