Schoolgirl who went missing after failing to return from taking pet dog for a walk found safe and well

A teenage schoolgirl who failed to come home after taking her pet dog for a walk and was reported missing has been found safe and well.

Police appealed for information on the whereabouts of 13-year-old Georgina Havercroft, from Swansea, who had last been seen at her family home at around 4.40pm on Wednesday.

The teenager had taken her pet bichon frise dog for a walk. Both Georgina and the dog initially failed to return home and a police spokesman had said "concern [was] growing for her welfare".

A short while later the force tweeted saying she had been found "safe and well", adding: "Many thanks to all who shared the appeal and got in touch with information."
