A schoolgirl who was hit by a car at a zebra crossing has been taken to hospital with a head injury.
Merseyside Police was called to Childwall Road, near Picton Clock roundabout in Wavertree, at 3.45pm following reports of a crash. Once officers arrived at the scene they found a 15-year-old girl had been hit by a Skoda Yeti Elegance near a zebra crossing.
The girl suffered a head injury and was taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital by ambulance for assessment. The ECHO understands the schoolgirl was conscious and breathing when she left the scene.

The driver of the Skoda stopped at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries. No arrests have been made.
A number of police vehicles have blocked Childwall Road until the condition of the schoolgirl involved is confirmed. Traffic is slow in the area, but coping well.
