A schoolgirl has allegedly been seriously sexually assaulted near Cathkin Braes Country Park.
Cops confirmed the 16-year-old was reportedly attacked on Fernbrae Avenue in Rutherglen , Glasgow .
Officers were called to reports of the alleged serious sexual assault in the park at around 10.25pm on Sunday night.
Police confirmed an 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with the alleged incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police are carrying out enquiries after receiving a report of 16-year-old female youth having been allegedly seriously sexually assaulted near to Fernbrae Avenue, Rutherglen on Sunday at 10.25pm.
“An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with the alleged incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
