The excitement was too much for a schoolboy invited to attend the State of the Union address after being bullied over his name.

Joshua Trump, 11, was sat two seats away from First Lady Melania Trump and was seen to be sleeping during the speech by President Donald Trump.

Joshua, from Wilmington, Delaware, was invited to Congress to watch the speech after enduring taunts of “idiot” and “stupid” for sharing the same surname as the president,

His family, who are not related to the president, removed him from school two years ago because the taunts were so severe.

But he won fans on social media after he was spotted struggling to stay awake.

“Joshua Trump,” rules, one user commented as pictures of the boy spread.

The first lady made anti-bullying her legacy in the Whitehouse despite criticism of President Trump’s “bullying” behaviour towards opponents.
