Schoolboy taken to hospital after being knocked down in Dalkeith

A schoolboy has been taken to hospital after being knocked down in Dalkeith.

The 13-year-old was struck down on High Street around 3.40pm on Wednesday.

Mercy crews raced the teenager to the Royal Sick Kids Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Now a 38-year-old woman has been reported in connection with road traffic offences.

A statement said: "Police were called around 3.40pm on Wednesday, 6 October, 2021 following the report of a road traffic crash involving a car and a pedestrian on High Street, Dalkeith.

"Emergency services attended and a 13-year-old boy was taken to the Royal Sick Kids Hospital for treatment of injuries.

"A 38-year-old woman has been reported in connection with road traffic offences."
