Schoolboy 'spat in police car' after police broke up suspected drug deal

Police broke up a suspected drug deal to arrest three people, including two teenagers.

Merseyside Police officers were on Rock Lane East in Rock Ferry, Wirral at around 4pm on Tuesday, January 24, when they saw two men in a suspected drug deal. Police detained three people following the incident including a 16-year-old boy and 36-year-old woman from Rock Ferry and a 15-year-old boy from Higher Bebington.

A search of the nearby area led to police finding drugs, cash, a knuckle duster and other paraphernalia.

The 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. The 36-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs.

Both the teenage boy and woman remain in custody. The 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of obstructing police and criminal damage to a police vehicle, after attempting to obstruct officers in the search, resisting arrest and reportedly spitting inside a police vehicle.

He has been released under investigation.

Community Policing Inspector Daniel Greenhalgh said: "We know the harm that drug supply causes, both to drug users, and in the serious and organised crime and violence that comes with such activity. These results were the result of good proactive policing work, but we will also act on information which comes in from those communities who feel the harm, so get this to us directly or anonymously and we will do the rest."
