Schoolboy rushed to hospital after being knocked down by car outside Scots church

A young boy has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Aberdeen.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Great Western Road at around 4.30pm on Tuesday, October 2.

Police have confirmed that an 11-year-old child has been taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

The extent of his injuries are not currently known.

Officers remain at the scene outside Mannofield Church as they carry out enquiries in the area to determine the circumstances of the collision.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4:30pm a child was hit by a car outside Mannofield Church on Great Western Road, Aberdeen.

“Officers are at the scene and an 11-year-old boy has been taken to hospital.”

We earlier told how a five-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being hit by a motor in Gowkshill, Midlothian.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene outside St Andrew's Primary at around 3.15pm on Tuesday.
