Schoolboy rushed to hospital after being hit by bus on busy Scots road

A schoolboy was rushed to hospital after being knocked down by a bus on a road in Barrhead.

Emergency services raced to the scene after the accident happened on Glasgow Road in the town.

The alarm was raised after school classes finished at around 4.05pm on Tuesday, October 26.

Ambulance crews attended and the boy was taken to hospital for treatment.

It's believed he is in a stable condition.

Officers say their enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received report of a 13-year-old boy having been struck by a bus on Glasgow Road in Barrhead around 4.05pm on Tuesday, 26 October, 2021.

"The boy was taken to hospital for treatment.

"Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing."
