A schoolboy who was found critically ill on a busy road this morning has died in hospital.
Police and ambulance services arrived on the scene following reports of a ‘medical emergency’ just before 9am on December 7.
The boy, who has not yet been identified, was rushed to hospital as medics tried to save his life. However, nothing could be done to save him.
Members of the public reported seeing a fleet of 999 vehicles in the area and police tape on busy road.
Staffordshire Police declined to comment as it involved a ‘non-suspicious sudden death’, according to Stoke-on-Trent Live.
The youngster was found on Furlong Road, Tunstall before being transferred to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “We were called at 8.48am to reports of a medical emergency on Furlong Road, Tunstall. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a BASICS emergency doctor attended the scene.
“On arrival, we discovered one patient, a boy, in a critical condition, he was conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment.”
