A schoolboy was caught on camera kicking a cat into the air in the middle of a street.
The 13-year-old tabby cat called Max is seen walking down Elwy Street in Rhyl towards a group of boys standing on the corner.
The video shows one of the boys approaching the cat on Friday before kicking him in to the air.
Max's owner, Chez Nicholson Mitchell, 37, bought Max as a kitten after she was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) having found her brother dead in his room.
The mother-of-five is seen confronting the boys and is now hoping the boy responsible will be punished for his actions.
Mrs Mitchell told NorthWalesLive : "I was horrified when I saw what they did.
"I couldn't believe it and when I went out to speak to them they denied doing it.
"I was that angry I don't even remember getting out of my chair - one minute I was sitting at my desk, the next minute I was outside confronting them.
"I told them they were horrible bullies trying to hurt a defenceless animal.
"Max has had a difficult year. He was attacked by a dog towards the end of last year and he is still very tender in the stomach area so this could have really caused some damage."
Mrs Mitchell added: "He's a very friendly and lovable cat so it's upsetting to think someone would want to deliberately hurt him."
Mrs Mitchell has now reported the incident to the RSPCA and said she has spoken to the boy's family about the incident.
She added: "Personally I think something should be done because you can't go around kicking animals.
"It might not look like much but it could have really hurt Max and what if this lad does it again to another animal but even harder next time?
"I've posted the video all over social media but some people are actually saying that it's not a big deal which I can't understand.
Mrs Mitchell added: "I'm a mother of five and none of my kids would ever dream of doing anything like this.
"Max is 13 so he's an old man really and was just minding his own business, he didn't deserve it at all."
A spokesperson for RSPCA Cymru said: "We’re very sorry to hear that Max has been involved in this incident.
“We have been made aware of this incident.
"Unfortunately we are unable to discuss complaints about specific people and what action may have been taken.
"We understand how frustrating that is for animals lovers but releasing information could prejudice a future prosecution or could lead to us being fined.
“We are so grateful to people who report suspected animal suffering to us and we would like to reassure people we will always look into and, if necessary, investigate any complaints made to us about animal welfare."
