A nine-year-old schoolboy has died in a horror playground accident after he was hit by a swing.
Marcus Vinicius da Silva Melo Junior had been playing in the square in Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil on April 29 when he was fatally injured by the equipment.
The swing, which is designed for people with physical disabilities and is larger than a typical swing, had only been installed in the square two days earlier.
It had been introduced by the municipality of Angra dos Reis as part of a drive for more inclusive public facilities for children.
Local reports say several children were using the swing when it collided with Marcus, killing him on the spot.
It has now been removed from the square.

The Municipality of Angra dos Reis said in a statement: "The Municipality of Angra dos Reis reports the death of Marcus Vinicius da Silva Melo Junior, nine years old, yesterday afternoon (29th April), hit by a moving swing at Campo Belo Square.
"The Civil Defence was present at the scene to follow up on what happened. The engineering team from the secretariat found no fault or damage to the swing structure that contributed to the accident. The toy was removed from Campo Belo Square to the Civil Defence base and remains available, in case complementary expertise is necessary.
"The Municipality deeply regrets what happened and continues to provide all necessary support to the family, which has been assisted since yesterday."
The Civil Police are investigating the case.
In February, a UK mum paid tribute to her son who died when became entangled in a makeshift rope swing while playing with friends.
Riain Brennan-Byrne, 10, had been playing with a swing made from a blue cord wrapped around the branches of a tree while visiting his mum in Leicestershire last summer.
He became tangled in the rope and was discovered by his friends who immediately ran for help. Despite resuscitation attempts, the youngster sadly died in hospital an hour later.
At an inquest into the incident, his mum Niamh said she has been left heartbroken by the loss of her son, saying he was "always her king" and has "left a huge void in our lives".
