UPDATE: Merseyside Police shared a brief statement on Thursday, July 15 confirming David has been found.
A schoolboy is at the centre of an urgent police hunt after going missing from home.
Merseyside Police today turned to the public to help find the missing 15-year-old from Liverpool.
Police have released a photograph as part of the bid to trace Belle Vale teenager David McDonald.

He was last seen on Sunday, July 4 at his home address on Jones Farm Road.
Merseyside Police said David "speaks with a Liverpool accent" and is described as 5ft 1in tall, of thin build, with short dark brown hair and a pale complexion.
The spokesperson added: "When last seen, he was wearing a grey hoodie, black trousers, black Nike trainers, and a North face cross-body bag.
"He is known in the Rice Lane area, including the loopline (also known as 'The Ralla), and around the area of Walton Hall Sports Centre."
Police are urging people to pass any information or sightings of David via this form or via @MerPolCC, 101 or Missing Persons on 116 000.
