A 15-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries after being attacked by a gang of thugs.
The youngster was standing outside Morrisons Anchor Mills in Paisley's Thread Street when the group of brutes set about him on Thursday night.
He had been waiting outside the supermarket around 10.20pm when they approached him and soon after battered the schoolboy in a terrifying attack - leaving him with serious head wounds.
The teen was rushed to Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital where medics treated his injuries.
Cops in Paisley are treating the horror incident as serious assault and have now launched an investigation to trace those responsible.

Officers are currently checking CCTV at the supermarket and are appealing with anyone who may have been in the area during the time of the assault to get in touch.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 10.20pm on July 1, a 15-year-old male was assaulted at Morrisons, Thread Street in Paisley.
"He received serious head injuries as a result of being assaulted by a group of youths.
"He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he received treatment for his injuries.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident but we would encourage any members of the public to get in touch with police if they can assist with our enquiries."
