A teenage boy has died after he was hit by a van while riding a push scooter last night.
The 15-year-old schoolboy was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by the silver Citroen.
Detectives are appealing for dashcam footage from other motorists who were in the area around the time the boy was hit.
Police said the driver stopped at the scene and "spoke at length with officers".
They said the driver is helping with enquiries and no arrests have been made in connection with the crash.
The youngster was hit by the vehicle on the A6 between Ambergate and Whatstandwell, Derbyshire.
A Derbyshire Police spokseman said: "An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision has been launched and our officers are appealing for information from the public.
"In particular they want to hear from any motorists with dashcam devices, who were travelling on the A6 Ambergate between about 8.20pm and 9pm.
"If you have any footage, or have any other information, call our collision investigation unit on 101."
