Police have launched an urgent appeal to find a missing 11-year-old boy.

Abdullah Akram, from Toxeth, was last seen on Tuesday morning at around 10.10am and Merseyside Police are desperate to find him.

Officers have tweeted an appeal from the force's official Twitter account, saying: "We are appealing to help find missing 11-year-old Abdullah Akram from Toxteth. He was last seen this morning (28 Dec). Have you seen him or know where he is?"

Blackburn and Darwen Police said on its Facebook page that Abdullah could be in the Blackburn area.

Abdullah is of Middle Eastern ethnicity, 4ft10in tall and slim build.

He was last seen wearing a black Nike tracksuit, black Adidas shoes and carrying a small satchel.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
