A schoolboy was taken to hospital in a serious condition after being involved in a crash with a car while riding a scooter.
Merseyside Police were called to Elephant Lane in St Helens at 4.15pm on Wednesday, October 19, following reports of a crash. Once at the scene officers found a 10-year-old boy was involved in a collision with a Suzuki Vitara car while riding his scooter.
Officers asked for help from the North West Ambulance Service and multiple paramedic vehicles, and an Air Ambulance were dispatched to the scene.

The air ambulance landed on a plot of land near Elephant Road to help the boy, who police have said has a serious leg injury. He has been taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are asking people to avoid the area while emergency services respond to the incident.
