School warning after reports of 'man filming children with phone'

Primary school children in Bolton have reported seeing a man filming them from the school gates.

The alleged incident happened at St Mary's Primary School in Victoria Road, Horwich, on Tuesday (October 13).

While the pupils were in the playground during their lunch break, a man is said to have filmed them playing, using his phone.

The school sent out a text message to parents, informing them about the reported incident.

The message, sent out just after 4pm on Tuesday, said: "At lunchtime today pupils reported seeing a man possibly filming the yard.

"'School safe' was actioned and we ask you to remind your children of stranger danger."

Horwich Parish Primary School also warned parents and included a description of the man.

In an email, head teacher Debbie Mills wrote: "We have been made aware of a School safe situation today by St Mary's RC Primary school.

"It was reported that a man was seen standing by the school gate on Dale Street and it was believed he was using his phone to film children."

The man is described as being in his 20s, white, with short brown hair. He is said to have been wearing a black, short rainproof jacket, black trousers and shoes.

Manchester Evening News has contacted Greater Manchester Police for comment.
