A Maghull high school has had to send two entire year groups home in two days following positive coronavirus tests.
In a letter to parents sent out today, Deyes High School confirmed that the entire of Year 11 will now have to isolate for 14 days after a confirmed case of coronavirus.
It comes just one day after the Deyes Lane school confirmed the entire of Year 9 were not to attend school on Monday after a pupil tested positive for coronavirus.
Both year groups were sent home from Deyes High School and told to stay at home and isolate until Monday, October 19.
A statement posted to the school website said: "We have been informed of a confirmed case of COVID 19 in our Year 11 cohort. In line with advice from Public Health England we are duty bound to inform you that Year 11 students are to stay at home and self-isolate until Monday 19th October. Further information is available in the latest update from the Head of School.
"Arrangements for all Year 9 students remain in place. These students are also to stay at home and self-isolate until Monday 19th October.
"Arrangements for all Year 12 students also remain in place. These students are also to stay at home and self-isolate until Thursday 15th October 2020."

The year groups were sent home as positive cases continue to rise across Merseyside.
Liverpool's Central ward now has around three times as many confirmed cases as any other city area.
The latest data shows that between September 26 and October 2, there were 323 new infections recorded in the central area of the city.

This means that 13% of the city's 2,426 cases in that 7-day period occurred in this single ward among the 30 wards across the city.
These numbers have contributed significantly to Liverpool's surging coronavirus rate, which has now reached a worrying 487.1 cases per 100,000 people.
